10240nat Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy

The Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy is a comprehensive training program designed to teach you underpinning knowledge (theory) and practical skills required to be able to set up your own professional practice in this therapy based industry. Within the training is EFT and EMDR forms of Meridian Energy therapy.

This Diploma is a fusion of some of the most noted work in our field today and reflects the knowledge and practical application of people like

Milton Hyland Erickson, (5 December 1901– 25 March) was an American psychiatrist specializing in medical hypnosis and family therapy. He was founding president of the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis and a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, and the American Psychopathological Association. He is noted for his approach to the unconscious mind as creative and solution-generating. He is also noted for influencing brief therapy, strategic family therapy, family systems therapy, solution focused brief therapy, and neuro-linguistic programming.

Stephen G. Gilligan, Ph.D., (born Dec. 26th, 1954) is an American author, registered psychologist and psychotherapist. Gilligan was selected as one of the first students and developers of the work of Milton H. Erickson, considered the founder of modern hypnotherapy. Gilligan is most well-known for his work in the area of hypnosis and psychotherapy. He is also known as one of the contributors in the early development of Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). Gilligan has had a private practice in psychotherapy and has taught his approach to hypnosis and psychotherapy for the past 20 years.

Where Erickson emphasised hypnosis as a communication, Gilligan took this as a starting point to pioneer a field he called self-relations, which takes Erickson’s viewpoint that all symptoms are communication, and considers the common “human condition” as attempting to awake, without skill or guidance. His work therefore focuses on the awakening of soul, using the concept of ‘sponsorship’ (the supporting of change), drawing parallels from other traditions where this is seen as essential to the awakening of the human spirit.

Dr. Edgar A. Barnett In 1975 Dr. Barnett gave up his general practice to devote full time to the practice of analytical hypnotherapy and psychotherapy. In the years that followed he became President of the Ontario Society of Clinical Hypnosis. He also held the positions of Secretary and Vice President of the American Board of Medical Hypnosis. He applied for and received the Diploma of the American Board of Medical Hypnosis. He was elected Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

Michael D. Yapko, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and marriage and family therapist residing in Fallbrook, California. He is internationally recognized for his work in depression and outcome-focused psychotherapy, routinely teaching to professional audiences all over the world. To date, he has been invited to present his innovative ideas and strategic methods to colleagues in 30 countries across six continents, and all over the United States.

Dr. Yapko has had a special interest which spans three decades in the intricacies of brief therapy, the clinical applications of hypnosis and other directive methods, and strategically treating the disorder of major depression. He is the author of ten books and editor of three others, and numerous book chapters and articles on the subjects of the brief therapy of depression and the use of strategic psychotherapies.

Ernest L. Rossi, PhD is an internationally renowned therapist, teacher and pioneer in the psychobiology of mind-body healing. He is the Science Editor of Psychological Perspectives and the author, co-author and editor of more than 20 professional books in the areas of psychotherapy, dreams, psychobiology and therapeutic hypnosis.

The outcome of the course is to train students to the level of a Practitioner of Clinical Hypnotherapy. The format for delivery and assessment is designed around a twelve month program.
